A group of 40 students will take part in the workshop. The selection of participants will be directly managed by a scientific committee composed of the PhD workshop’s mentors and research methodology/design experts following a double-blind evaluation process.
The selection will be based on the submission of an executive summary (800-1000 words) of the ongoing PhD research, which will specifically address:

the general topic that the thesis is intended to address and its connection to the main theme of the AESOP 2019 Conference;

research goals and questions;

research methodology;

expected outcomes of the thesis;

short personal profile;

reasons for the request for a bursary (only for AESOP members and members of the AESOP Young Academics Network whishing to apply for a scholarship-see the section Registration and Fees for details);

The submitted executive summaries will be evaluated by the scientific committee on the basis of their quality and the ways in which they address the theme. Gender and geographical representation will also be considered.

The workshop is organised as a PhD course (2.5 ECTS). Those who wish to be awarded with the course credits are required to write an essay (approx. 2000 words) after the workshop that is based on the conclusions drawn from the workshop.

Note that it is not possible to attend if you have previously participated in an AESOP PhD workshop.
